We have proposed why to model organisational causes of incidents and accidents using bayesian nets. Bayesian nets generalise other more familiar probabilistic modelling techniques and are useful here to model the way that organisational factors change the likelihood of events in an accident scenario.
There are a number of challenges for this work – primarily to complete the model and get it into use.
