My research interests are in Information Retrieval. Some areas that I am particularly interested in follow. More information can be found
in my publications.
Automatic text summarisation
User-based summaries, and the evaluation of summarisation systems. I am mainly interested in task and user-based evaluation schemes.
You can find out more at my M.Sc. thesis.
Document clustering
Document clustering as a tool for effective document retrieval: query-based similarity measures and clustering, cluster-based searching and
cluster representation. Document clustering for interactive information retrieval: looking into the potential benefits of searchers interacting
with clustered document spaces.
Personalised representation of information
This includes the design of methods for the personalised presentation of retrieved information, with the aim to facilitate the increased interaction
between users and retrieved information. Psycholinguistics, reading comprehension, and psychology of language research are also of interest
here.
