Past Stuff

I hold a Dip. Eng. in Computer Engineering & Informatics from the University of Patras, Computer Engineering and Informatics Department in Greece, and an M.Sc. (with distinction) in Advanced Information Systems from the Department of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow. My M.Sc. thesis was on query-biased text summarisation.

I obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow. My thesis was on the effectiveness of hierarchic query-based clustering of documents for information retrieval. My supervisor was Professor Keith van Rijsbergen. The thesis received the 2003 BCS/CPHC Distinguished Dissertations Award.

I have worked as a research assistant at the High Performance Computing Laboratory (HPCL) of the University of Patras, and as a postdoctoral research fellow in Glasgow on a project for the Personalisation of Web Searches through Ostension & Summarisation.
