Title: Unwinding in the style of Kreisel: The Case of Littlewood's Theorem

Abstract: A small number of difficult and important theorems in pure mathematics
have been analyzed with the aid of some metamathematical ideas of Kreisel, with a
view to extracting more explicit information. The applications are not systematic,
and probably cannot be. I concentrate on some aspects of what goes on in connection
with analytic number theory.
