Title: Approximation of invariant measures for chaotic dynamical systems Speaker: Oscar Bandtlow Abstract: Invariant measures are important objects in the study of the long-term statistical behaviour of chaotic dynamical systems. There are very few cases where invariant measures with good statistical properties are known explicitly. As a result there is interest in robust approximation techniques. In this talk, I will give a survey of a number of methods and will discuss their merits and shortcomings.
