Teaching

Courses

I currently lecture on four courses: Graphical User Interface Design, Computer Mediated Communication, Research Methods II, and Interaction Design.

Graphic User Interface Design is a second semester course for second year undergraduates and optionally for MScIT students. The focus is on understanding and experiencing the user interface design process from requirements to evaluation, and gaining an understanding of the psychological background to human factors.

Computer Mediated Communication is a first semester course for Advanced MSc students focussing on understanding the nature of human interaction and how we design understand technological mediation.

Research Methods II is a second semester Advanced MSc course which aims to give students a chance to develop their academic practice through poster design and presentation, and the production of a short conference paper.

Interaction Design is a second semester course for third year undergraduates. The focus is on understanding design in terms of human-human interaction taking a broadly sociological stance on analysis.

Project Supervision

I supervise projects on musical interaction, human communication, or user interface design.
