LODGING
Accommodation is limited around the UC Berkeley Campus, so we recommend booking early. Below are some suggestions in the local area, but you may find more on a search engine. Also, please note that Berkeley is near to San Francisco, so you could use the BART to get to the conference venue - there is information about this from the Berkeley Art Museum website.

HOTEL SHATTUCK
The Hotel Shattuck is located two blocks from the UC Berkeley campus, but you will need to get across campus to reach the main conference venue at the Berkeley Art Museum, either by 15 to 20 minute walk, or by taking a bus. The landmark Hotel Shattuck Plaza has returned to Downtown Berkeley after an extensive multi-million dollar renovation. The city's oldest hotel has become the San Francisco Bay Area's newest boutique hotel. We have negotiated a rate of $134 per night - click here to book.

BANCROFT HOTEL
The Bancroft Hotel is a boutique hotel adjacent to the main conference venue. We have secured a small block of rooms for the preferential rate of $129. Please note that you will need to call the hotel directly to book a room. When calling, please say that you are with "The ACM C&C 2009 Conference" for preferential rates.

DURANT HOTEL
The Durant Hotel is a larger boutique hotel just across the street from the main conference venue.

BERKELEY HOSTEL
Berkeley Hostel (Piedmont House) is an inexpensive hostel a few blocks from the conference venues.

BED AND BREAKFAST
Berkeley & Oakland Bed and Breakfast Network provide a list of bed and breakfast options in the area. We have not tried any of these, so we offer the link as a pointer for you to explore.

TRAVEL
UC Berkeley easily accessed by public transport e.g. you can use the BART to get to the conference venue - there is information about this from the Berkeley Art Museum website. Using public transport reduces our carbon footprint, but if you really must travel by car there are a number of commercial carparks which will charge you by the hour for parking on UC Berkeley Campus and around downtown Berkeley. The conference itself does not provide car parking facilities.
