Dr Ling Ma obtained a BEng in Automatic Control Engineering from the College of Electronic Information & Control Engineering at Beijing University of Technology in 2000. After that, she received an MSc in Information Systems in 2001 and a PhD in Computing Science in 2005, both from the School of Computing Sciences, University of East Anglia. During her study at UEA, she also worked as a part-time teaching assistant from 2001 to 2004.
From September 2004 to July 2007, Dr Ling Ma worked in the Department of Computer Science, University of York as a full-time teaching fellow and a member of Human Computer Interaction Research Group. In July 2007, she joined the Department of Electronic Engineering (now School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science) at Queen Mary, University of London.
Her research interests include Context-aware Computing and Acoustic Environment Classification. (List of publications). Her teaching interests are Programming and Software Engineering. (Current teaching).
