Jon Rowson has been a member of the academic staff at Queen Mary since 1977. In 2005 he was elected Academic Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences. For the six years before this he served as both Deputy and Acting Head of the Department of Computer Science. He is a member of the department's Interaction, Media and Communication research group, his main research interest being in interactive systems and the notion of control.
