This workshop was held on 7-8 April 1997 at the University of Manchester, and was organised in conjunction with the AISB workshop series. Further details of the workshop can be found in the call for participation.

The programme consisted of invited talks by John-Jules Meyer and Marek Sergot, paper presentations, discussion sessions, and a notable panel session on "Logic and Robotics", chaired by Rob Miller, during which Bob Kowalski, Ray Reiter and Murray Shanahan presented and discussed their approaches to Cognitive Robotics.

The proceedings contain submitted papers and representative papers illustrating the talks given by the invited speakers and panelists.
