Bio
I
received a BA (subsequently MA) in Mathematics from Cambridge in 1995. I received an MSc in
Signal Processing and Machine Intelligence from the University of Surrey
in 1997. I subsequently spent two and a half years working as a software
engineer in CAE Electronics and six and a half years as a software
engineer in Thales Communications UK. I am now a research student in
video coding, working under Dr. Andrea Cavallaro. My current research
interests lie in the space-variant filtering and coding of images and
video, but I have an interest in all areas of signal processing and a
long-standing obsession with the computational side of mathematics.
Awards
Winner
of the IEEE ICASSP 2009 Student Paper Contest, Area 3 (Image and
Multidimensional Signal Processing).
