I received my
Bachelors degree (B.E) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangalore
Institute of Technology in 2004 and my MSc
degree in Digital Signal Processing from Queen Mary University of London
in 2005. During my MSc thesis I worked in
liaison with the Institute of Dentistry, at Barts
and The London, Queen Mary's School
of Medicine and
Dentistry, in designing an intuitive approach for the registration of 3D
face scans with deformations. In 2009 I completed my PhD research at
Queen Mary University of London under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Cavallaro. During my PhD I worked on the analysis of
3D face scans, primarily focusing on registration, deformation analysis
and automatic detection of facial landmarks. An algorithm was developed
for the detection of landmarks and the segmentation of regions on 3D
facial scans that, unlike previous approaches, is independent of texture,
pose or orientation information. This was used to develop further
algorithms for face segmentation (detection) in 3D scenes and expression-invariant
face recognition. I am currently working as a Teaching and Research
Assistant in the School
of Electronic Engineering
and Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London.
