H641 BEng Telecommunications (3 years)

This programme is a response to one of the most rapidly growing areas of electronic engineering and covers all aspects of communications. You will learn about microwave and optical systems as well as the design, operation and management of large-scale communication networks for computers and voice and video signals.

The first two years of the Telecommunications programme are similar to the BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering and BEng Electronic Engineering programmes. A wide range of technical and business modules provides a strong engineering foundation to this specialised degree.

The MEng in Communications Engineering has the same first two years as its BEng Telecommunications programme counterpart. The third and fourth years devote more time to professional development and group project work. The MEng Communication Engineering programme has an additional year of study of advanced postgraduate modules on topics such as security, authentication, satellite communications and mobile services.
