How to Apply for Postgraduate Taught Programmes

Closing Dates

We do not impose closing dates for applications to our MSc programmes, but entry is competitive and you are advised to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment as programmes may fill early.

Also, if international applicants apply too late you may not be able to obtain a visa in time to begin the programme.

Apply Online

Online application is the preferred method of application.

Follow the "Apply Online" tab on the programme of study that interests you.

If you are unsure about whether to apply or have any questions about your application you can e-mail the EECS Postgradaute Administrator

Full guidance notes are provided during the online application process. If at any stage you require any advice or assistance, or encounter any difficulty in using the online application service, please contact:

Paper-based Applications

Although online applications are preferred, you are welcome to submit your application via post with a paper-based application.

Please download the form here

Notes for Applicants

Many applications are submitted without complete paperwork, which will cause a delay in processing. Please ensure all elements of your application are included at the time of submission. You will need to provide the following documents:

  • Transcripts from your previous university education showing subjects and grades (which must be translated in English).
  • Proof of English Proficiency (for international non-native English speaking applicants), for example the IELTS test with a minimum overall score of 6.5 (with at least 5.5 in each component). Please see our admissions pages for further details.
  • A letter of academic reference (please try and have this available before you apply, or, arrange for it to be sent directly to the postgraduate admissions coordinator as references are not requested on your behalf)
  • A recent curriculum vitae
  • Statement of Purpose

International Students

Students submitting an application overseas may wish to contact one of our authorised local representatives from the International Office for assistance with the online application. Representatives can help you through the application process step by step and can upload documents. They do not charge for their services.
