Fees and funding

We recognise that enrolling for further study is a major undertaking both personally and financially. If you are wondering how much it will cost and how to apply for student finance, this section will provide some guidance.

If you enrol on a postgraduate degree programme, you will be charged tuition fees each year by Queen Mary. The rate you will be charged depends on whether you are assessed as a Home/EU or Overseas student.

UK and EU students

Full-time taught postgraduate degrees (including MA, MSc, MRes)

Tuition fees can be found on the ‘Fees and Funding’ tab of each programme page.

Part-time fees

Most part-time programmes run for two years and their fees (per year) are one half of the standard full-time programme fees. If the full-time programme fee increases in the second year, then you will be required to pay one half of the increased fee.

International Students

Like all universities in the UK, tuition fees at QMUL are higher for international students from outside the EU as the university does not receive government subsidy to help meet the cost of your education.

Tuition fees can be found on the ‘Fees and Funding’ tab of each programme page.

For more information, visit Queen Mary University London international fees and funding pages.

Queen Mary will send you an invoice in August, which will represent the charge for the full academic year you are enrolled on. If you choose to accept a place at Queen Mary, it is your responsibility to ensure that your tuition fees are paid when they are due. Fees due in any academic year are payable prior to or at enrolment. All postgraduate students must pay at least half of the fee due before enrolment.

From 2018 onwards, the UK Government is offering postgraduate loans to English and Welsh applicants wishing to studying for a Masters degrees.
