Profile

Near field testing

Focal point for research, plan and technical advice on RF design, development and testing programmes for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) projects, including SMEs, Telecom, Sat-Comm and Defence programmes. Highlights of these jobs include:

  • Ka/Ku band Nano Satellites using a fabric-like, flexible dish antenna technology that expand in space to offer high throughput communications (NSLComm and Clyde Space),
  • X band WG based phase array (Sylatech),
  • Ka band multilayer phase array (Plextek),
  • Mm-wave conformal and flat reflector antennas (Commscope, Rossenberger, Leonardo),
  • Ka band beam steering lens for automotive radar (AGC),
  • Body worn UHF antennas for battlefield (DSTL).

Research

Research Interests:

My main interests are in Antennas and Propagation in  microwave and  millimetric frequencies. Current research interests include:

  • Spectrum sensing and Cognitive radios,
  • Non-invasive EM sensing techniques,
  • Wireless sensor networks,
  • Characterisation of Dielectric properties of materials.
  • Bio-electromagnetics,
  • Body-Centric radio propagation modelling,
  • Compact and conformal wearable antennas,
