Recent progress in music/acoustic signal processing at the University of TokyoDate: Fri 11th September 2009 14:00
Location: Electronic Engineering, Room 105
Speaker(s): Shigeki Sagayama (University of Tokyo)
Our lab (30 people) is working on music and acoustic signal processing as well as music information processing and speech recognition/synthesis/dialog. In my talk, I will demonstrate some results from our recent progress such as multi-F0 analysis, chord detection, rhythm recognition, music genre classification, automatic music composition, automatic accompaniment, harmonic-percussive sound separation, tempo/pitch conversion, music note manipulation, etc.
Shigeki Sagayama received BE, ME, and PhD degrees from the University of Tokyo all in Mathematical Engineering and Information Physics. He
joined NTT Labs 1974. From 1990 to 1993, he was responsible for the speech processing department at ATR Interpreting Telephony Research
Laboratories until coming back to NTT Labs in 1993. In 1998, he became a professor, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology
(JAIST). Since 2000, he has been a professor, Graduate School Information Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo.
