The 2016 programming competition took place on Wednesday afternoon 27 January in the Informatics Teaching Laboratory. The competition was run by Dr Paulo Oliva, who has been the organiser of the event for the last 9 years, with the help of Claire Revell, Haris Krekelis and Nikos Tzevelekos.


Professor Pat Healey has been selected for the visiting professor role - international chair for ‘empirical foundations of linguistics’ - which will see him deliver a series of lectures based on the theme of miscommunication.


Internationally renowned British microwave engineer Professor Peter Clarricoats CBE FREng FRS (Antennas Emeritus Professor and FOunder of the Antennas and Electromagnetics Research Group at QMUL) is to receive one of the Royal Academy of Engineering’s highest accolades, the Sir Frank Whittle Medal, for his influential achievements spanning more than half a century.
