Scan your doodles to find the perfect matching photo online
A computer program can scan your sketches and search for a photograph that looks just like them which is a step towards a search engine based on drawings, according to computer scientists at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

The 2016 programming competition took place on Wednesday afternoon 27 January in the Informatics Teaching Laboratory. The competition was run by Dr Paulo Oliva, who has been the organiser of the event for the last 9 years, with the help of Claire Revell, Haris Krekelis and Nikos Tzevelekos.
Professor Pat Healey has been selected for the visiting professor role - international chair for ‘empirical foundations of linguistics’ - which will see him deliver a series of lectures based on the theme of miscommunication.
