First Stereo Audio Source Separation Evaluation Campaign: Data, Algorithms and Results

Author(s): Emmanuel Vincent, Hiroshi Sawada, Pau Bofill, Shoji Makino, Justinian Rosca

Abstract

This article provides an overview of the first stereo audio source separation evaluation campaign, organized by the authors. Several underdetermined stereo source separation algorithms have been applied to a variety of signals, including instantaneous, convolutive and real mixtures involving either speech or music sources, and the estimated source signals have been compared to reference signals using multiple criteria. The results are presented and promising approaches are discussed.
